Game crashing when joining.

This error has happened to me and some servers before. When I try to join the server, my game crashes. It has nothing to do with my game, as I can join other server fine and I have verified my cache and defragged my game, but this might be a server issue. This might be only happening to me, or maybe to more people. All it takes to fix this error is to restart the server. You don't have to do it just because one person tells you, but I have been trying to join the server this morning and could not as my hl2.exe stopped working. As I said, this happened on other servers before and as soon as they restarted, it was solved.
